My Educational Philosophy

My reflection:

I was a little intimidated at the prospect of putting together an iMovie for this assignment, however, after finally settling in and crunching it out, I feel I have succeeded in producing my final product. More than anything else, this assignment has forced me to really examine my philosophy of education, and how I would like to be a leader in the classroom. Technology within our schools is something we should be encouraging, and that begins with us, the up-and-coming new wave of teachers, who are soon to bust on to the teaching scene with new, and fresh ideas to help stir the pot and lead our youth into the future! Enjoy!

School Technology Assessment

At Dzantik’I Heeni Middle School, the push for utilizing technology within classrooms is getting stronger every year. Technology is used by the faculty and students alike, in both lesson planning and implementation within the classrooms. Students benefit from the use of technology at a young age within the schools, learning programs and developing their skills before entering the high schools. As advancements in technology continue unabated, schools and students are benefiting and growing together.

Dzantik'i Heeni Middle School does not have an up to date technology plan in place due to lack of funding. However, with more public outreach, we can attempt to bridge the gap in the funding department and in the process continue to provide our staff with professional development opportunities in order to keep up with the technological advances occurring everyday. Through this assessment of the school, I really think a focus needs to be placed on securing funding along with developing a school technology plan. By developing such a plan, it will bring more focus in the use of technology within the school and increase the learning that occurs through technology.
